Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs as the highest-level technical expert, providing both internal and external consulting services. Works independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects. Develops and may conduct training programs. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments/applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system.

  • Support selected missile defense modeling and simulation for the overall BMDS, its segments and program elements.

  • Be a member of the Program Manager's crisis action team; thus he/she will respond to emergent requirements, data-calls, briefings, and contingencies.

  • Prepare real time responses to requests for information from MDA leadership.

  • Work special projects as required. Candidate will be a self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal guidance and understand the agency's long term vision and the interdependencies of a master fielding plan, master test plan, strategic test plan, and element development plans.

  • Be Level III Certified in SPRTE and Co-chair the SE IPT with his/her Gov't lead. Candidate will be well versed and prepared to publish and implement a rigorous Systems Engineering Process, Requirements Analysis, Functional Analysis and Allocation, Design Synthesis, Verification, and SE outputs.

  • Understand engineering system analysis and control functions to include WBS, Configuration Management, Program Management Baselines, Cost Accounts, EVMS, CAIV, IPTs, Technical Reviews and Audits, Trade Studies, Modeling and Simulation, Metrics, and Risk Management.

  • Be responsible for performing M&S system engineering planning, product improvement strategies, organizing and integrating systems development, contractual considerations, and management considerations.

  • Have worked as an engineer on one or more programs from Concept Studies, System Definition, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and life-cycle management. Candidate will understand cost estimating techniques to include actual, analogous, and engineering.


Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) or equivalent, and ten to twelve years of related experience.
