Job Duties and Responsibilities Works from specifications to develop or modify complex software programs to enhance an operating system. May give some direction and guidance to less experienced software systems engineers. Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Develops logic, codes, tests and debugs software packages. Modifies, tests, and debugs retail utilities. Packages and engineers releases to integrate with the company's operating systems. Develops and modifies complex software, such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications and file management.


  • Support selected missile defense modeling and simulation for the overall BMDS, its segments and program elements.

  • Be a member of the Program Manager's crisis action team; thus he/she will respond to emergent requirements, data-calls, briefings, and contingencies.

  • Prepare real time responses to requests for information from MDA leadership.

  • Work special projects as required. Understand engineering system analysis and control functions to include WBS, Configuration Management, Program Management Baselines, Cost Accounts, EVMS, CAIV, IPTs, Technical Reviews and Audits, Trade Studies, Modeling and Simulation, Metrics, and Risk Management.

  • Be responsible for performing M&S system engineering planning, product improvement strategies, aiding in organizing and integrating systems development, contractual considerations, and management considerations.

  • Engineering expertise on one or more programs from Concept Studies, System Definition, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and life-cycle management a plus. Candidate will understand cost estimating techniques to include actual, analogous, and engineering.


Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related work experience.
