We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Compliance Manager who will be responsible for helping to implement our corporate risk management strategy. This position will be located in our Denver, CO (Farmers Union) home office.

In this role you will use your highly polished verbal and written communication, interpersonal and consultative skills to collaborate with and add value to department senior managers and team members throughout our organization. You will be tasked with managing highly complex work under broad directives from senior management and exercising independent judgment in accordance with specified policies and guidelines. You will also advise senior management on regulatory compliance and data management policies. Your decisions will impact the pricing and/or reporting of insurance products. A very important emphasis will be placed on the underwriting quality review (audit) function part of this position. Your independent judgment abilities and high ethical standards will be paramount in this role. This position does not have direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

General oversight for highly complex compliance projects. This role advises senior management and makes recommendations for underwriting improvement to ensure compliance with filed rules and rates and ensures underwriting standards and guidelines are consistently met.

1. Serves as a technical expert in the area of regulatory compliance and how it applies to new and/or revised product and service development. Advises senior management of underwriting, marketing, legal, information technology, and actuarial groups on regulatory compliance issues.
2. Assembles, coordinates and directs underwriting quality review teams that regularly review underwriting performance of Ag field offices for lines of business including property, IM, liability, automobile and umbrella. Conducts underwriting training as necessary to enhance underwriting staff knowledge.
3. Oversees and monitors the planning and execution of company-wide regulatory compliance related projects to satisfy customer expectations for contracted time, cost and deliverables.
4. Stays current with changes in laws, filing policies, and general regulatory filing issues.
Required Education &/or Exp
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.

Required Education and/or Experience:
*BA preferred with 10-15 years of increase responsibility in the P&C insurance industry.
*5 years major project lead and/or management experience.
*Actuarial exams, CPCU, and advanced degrees favorable.

Job Related Knowledge and Skills:
*Broad knowledge of insurance operations including some depth in underwriting and regulatory compliance.
*General understanding of actuarial, legal, and information technology functions.
*Excellent communications skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external staff.
