Job Description

Serco North America has an opening for a Senior Wireless Network Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for conducting site surveys, developing network solutions, establishing and maintaining project schedules, and deploying/managing on-site teams of hardware and software professionals worldwide. The engineer will bear ultimate responsibility for assigned projects, expeditiously identifying, quantifying, and resolving technical deficiencies at home station and in the field. Flexibility will be a critical attribute - - project schedules will adjust in real time as delays and resource constraints present themselves.

Significant foreign travel is expected; working conditions may at times be a challenge. The individual will serve as the Serco representative in the field to the client, various national laboratories, the host government, and numerous subcontractors involved with the program;

  • Strong professional presence is required
  • Strong writing skills required
  • Ability to produce technical documentation, survey reports, meeting minutes, and as-built documentation is required
  • Experience in managing cradle-to-grave network design, development, and installation activities is required
  • Experience in designing and installing wireless networking solutions required
  • A solid mastery of TCP/IP internetworking fundamentals with a clear understanding of the fundamental underlying technologies is required
  • Industry certifications highly desired
  • Knowledge of physical infrastructure, particularly fiber optics, is highly desired
  • Basic understanding of photography/imagery technologies and terminology a plus
  • Basic fluency in application development processes and terminology a plus
  • Basic fluency in database development processes and terminology a plus
  • Familiarity with large government programs, government vernacular, and government deliverable structure is a plus
  • Ability to produce and present graphical presentations to medium-sized audiences is a plus.
Required Experience

Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. EEO M/F/D/V
