The field-based Regional Director, Health & Wellness Strategies ensures representation of the customer to United Healthcare and develops and manages marketing strategies and activities in supporting the Clinical Value Story. This role is critical to assisting in the achievement of UnitedHealthcare's growth and persistency targets. The incumbent takes an active role with current and prospective customers in support of business development as it pertains to clinical issues and analyses. Primary analytic personnel to support Clinical Marketing and Growth activities. Collaborates with the local market Medical Directors and Sales Leadership to identify opportunities and ensure continuity and consistency of messaging around the Clinical Value story. This position reports to the Western Regional Vice President of Strategic Accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with and advises sales and account executives, UnitedHealthcare customers and their representatives in product selection, program design, and outcome measurement to meet specific customer needs
- Analyze customer specific information ensuring accuracy of clinical data, analyzing appropriateness of care management programs, and promoting UnitedHealthcare's vendor partner usage when integral to the Clinical Value Story represented by the data
- Consult with customers and/or consultants to interpret clinical data and experience and makes recommendations, along with sales executives and account managers, to determine appropriateness of customer product decisions
- Facilitate identification and/or development of customer's health and wellness goals, assessment of current programs and development of customer specific, data driven, long term strategic health and wellness programs/action plans with focus on results
- Thoroughly research, identify and promote community and other resources and activities that align with the customer's needs
- Collaborate with clinical leaders across UnitedHealth Group to ensure clinical services meet the needs of United Healthcare customers, especially in reducing medical costs and increasing value to those customers
- Perform data analysis and interpretation of customer specific clinical data to support customer presentations and the sales process around clinical programs
- Formally participates in presentations and explanations of United Healthcare's clinical programs to current and prospective customers. Produces effective presentations by tailoring to the audience
- Develop tools and talking points to be used by market Medical Directors and Sales and Account Management team designed to assist in delivering the message of the Clinical Value Story
- Develop and maintain market based health and wellness tools and programs that are "turnkey" for sales and account management to implement with customers
- Identity customer's needs through data analysis and provides recommendations for developing clinical solutions
- Perform training needs assessments for field Market Medical Directors around customer data sharing and promotion of UHC's clinical differentiation; develops and delivers training programs as required

Qualifications
- Clinical or health education experience preferred.
- BA/BS required; MBA preferred
- 5 to 7 years experience in managed care preferred, with significant program management experience
- Solid familiarity with disease management / condition management programs is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
- Proven experience in servicing customers in a sales or marketing capacity
- Solid presentation skills with proven experience in presenting complex materials in public settings.
- Present as a knowledgeable and credible resource with solid knowledge of clinical programs. Establish trust with all levels of stakeholder groups
- Effective interpersonal skills, influence, collaboration, and listening skills in understanding customer needs
- Possesses solid written and oral communication skills; articulates issues in a concise manner
