The Career Development Services (CDS) Advisor is responsible for successfully preparing students to find, secure, and retain employment, giving them the skills necessary to repeat this process throughout their careers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in career coaching, counseling, or teaching (at the college, level, private firm, or even for themselves as their own business), or who have worked for a Staffing Service dealing with large number of clients at the same time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Relationships and SkillBuilding:
* Introduce new and continuing students to Career Development and guiding them through the general employment process
* Maintain regular and consistent contact with students
* Provide career opportunity counseling for students
* Conduct career development seminars/workshops
* Capture, maintain and update student records
* Coach students individually and in groups on job creative search skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, etc.
* Maintain contact with graduates seeking positions after graduation
* Assist with on-campus job fairs
Teamwork:
* Assists other CDS Advisors and Graduate Advisors in meeting team goals
* Participate in CDS events and projects
* Participate in CDS team meetings to stay aware of activities and department goals
* Actively seek ways to provide assistance to other departments in achieving operating objectives not necessarily under direct control or accountability
* Leverage relationships with professionals in related career fields to invite appropriate guest speakers to WOL CDS events
* Promoting a positive image in department staff toward operating objectives established by Alta Colleges, Westwood College and other departments
Documentation:
* Maintain detailed and accurate records of communication with students, staff, and employers
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
* Polished presentation skills
* Strong writing and grammar skills
* Project Management skills
* The ability to coach, counsel and provide candid feedback to students
* The ability to build internal working relationships
* The ability to work in a metrical, results oriented environment
* The ability to creatively use the Internet and computer technology to interact and provide programs for students
