In 2002, the Community of Caring Foundation, a Colorado tax exempt nonprofit incorporated in 1998, opened the doors of the Aspen Mine Center to provide a “one-stop resource shop” for residents of southern Teller County and the surrounding area. The AMC now houses some two dozen nonprofit service organizations.

The Broomfield Workforce Center is a service of the City and County of Broomfield that operates in partnership with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). Broomfield's Workforce Center is a member of the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium.

The organization's employment and training segment provides job search assistance, occupational training, and referrals. Its workers' compensation unit offers medical and disability benefits to injured employees. Through CDLE's division of labor, it protects employees, employers, and the public by regulating and enforcing the state's labor laws.

Workforce Centers provide a variety of free services to assist employers and job seekers alike. These include: job listings, computer & internet access, career counseling & training for job seekers; and recruitment of workers, pre-screening & referral services, tax credits, and training reimbursement for employers. Customers can choose either self-service or staff-assisted options to meet their employment needs.
