We are currently recruiting for a skilled social worker for our Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) a Level III/IV, 50-bed referral center for critically ill children, adolescents and young adults requiring complex medical and surgical care. Highly specialized physicians, nurses, and support staff collaborate in the care of critically ill patients and their families.

The MSICU Clinical Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Psychosocial assessments and ongoing support during admission for all families
  • Supportive counseling as families process and cope with medical diagnoses
  • Developing and maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Bereavement counseling
  • Crisis intervention
  • Psychosocial consultation and support to the multidisciplinary health care team

To qualify, you must have:

  • Master's degree in Social Work. LCSW required, LICSW preferred.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in a medical environment or with chronic illness is preferred.
