Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Human Resources Support Specialist supporting the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Acquisition Delta in the United States Space Force which consists of ground based radars and command and control systems. The Delta mission is modernize and sustain missile warning, missile defense, space domain awareness and command and control systems in defense of the homeland and allies. The Human Resources Specialist will provide support and assistance in the management and operations of program related HR tasks.

This position is located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado with hybrid flexibility (subject to change per the customer's discretion).

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Provides HR support / customer service to military, Government civilians, contractors on a daily basis. Maintains WebAims, the personnel database, of all employees and manages in and out processing.
    • Reviews, tracks, and updates and submits all vacancies ads for the military Vacancy Master List (VML).
    • Prepares written correspondence and other documents, to include Requests for Personnel Actions (RPA), Special qualifications packages, and Incentive packages. Maintains the RPA tracker.
    • Updates duty titles, raters, positions and other personnel data for military members.
  • Reviews, maintains, and supports updates to the Unit Manning Document (UMD) to reflect new gains, losses, Security Access Requirement (SAR) codes, duty title changes and any division/branch personnel changes. Reviews, updates, and tracks awards.
    • Coordinates all reserve man days and long tour orders, to include funding. Manages deployment training for military personnel within deployment window.
    • Works with Executive Officer to update duty titles, raters, positions and other personnel data for military members. Works with the Functionals to ensure maximum utilization of manpower and manage the status of ongoing personnel actions.
    • Represents division interests at weekly Directorate Organization, Train, and Equipment (OT&E) Meetings. Conducts weekly status briefings to Division leadership.
  • Serves as the HR focal point for one or more employee and management support programs to the organization assigned.
  • Answers phones and provides updates to servicing organization.
  • Initiates and ensures all pre-employment requirements are completed.
  • Advises management of possible delays and provides possible solutions.
  • Interacts with customers and Air Force Personnel Center key support staff.
  • Advises managers and/or employees of legal or regulatory requirements, pertinent policies, procedures, and/or entitlements.
  • Participates in mandatory affirmative employment activities.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Education: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 7-10 years of experience, 4 years in DoD.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of recruitment and placement
  • Knowledge of the functional relationships between HR specializations
  • Skill in applying a wide range of established, fundamental principles, provisions, laws, regulations, practices, and techniques of staffing at an Air Force installation or work within established parameters.
  • Skill in troubleshooting and resolving moderately difficult problems associated with providing recruitment and placement advisory services on well precedent and/or recurring issues and problems
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions from information, and communicate information clearly, orally and in writing.

Hybrid: This position offers hybrid flexibility 2 - 3 days per week (subject to change per the customer's discretion)
