Job Description:

This position has overall responsibility to achieve the budgeted membership sales goals for SelectHealth Medicare lines of business for the assigned territory. Establishes strong relationships with brokers, agents and employers. Educates on the SelectHealth Medicare lines of business. Implements and acts on strategic broker plans to driving sales objectives. Motivates and manages sales brokers and agents to sell SelectHealth products and services. Scouts for new agent/agency relationships and works closely with agent relations on appointments. May be responsible to manage employees.

Job Essentials

Establishes relationships and works closely with external consultants, agencies and agents to achieve Medicare sales goals. Monitors and measures sales goals and help define market objectives and forecasts. Executes strategic broker market plans with select agencies. Educates agents on products, policies, procedures and regulations. Works as a liaison between the broker and Medicare support departments. Creates and delivers effective sales presentations to consultants / brokers/ employers to increase awareness and promote SelectHealth lines of business. Maintains a complete understanding of all the components of Medicare benefit plans. Establishes and maintains a mutually productive relationship with all Medicare support departments. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the Medicare Compliance Regulations. Serves as a subject matter expert to internal teams and departments. Participants in developing and conducting internal team training. Assists management in developing market strategies. Provides market feedback that leads to the development of innovative products and services. Travels as required to further business and professional relationships. Prepares letters of correspondence to consultants / brokers / clients as needed. Keeps management apprised of broker issues and other relevant information. Provides ongoing feedback using market conditions, industry trends, and broker insight to assist strategic product development. Participates on assigned committees to provide market feedback and help shape policies and procedures. May manage employees providing direction, support and monitoring of daily activities to drive tactics and achieve sales goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or four years' experience in health insurance, management, marketing or sales. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified
  • Three years sales management experience.
  • Current Utah State health insurance agent/consultant license.
  • Complete AHIP or NAHU Medicare certification training within 2 months of licensing.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated effective organization and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health insurance plan concepts, operations and regulations.
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with proven ability to communicate with mature customers, staff, peers, external organizations and groups.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage self and others toward goals in high pressure sales environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales Management experience in the health insurance industry.
  • Highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skill.
  • Highly effective presentation skills.
  • Highly effective selling skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Interact with others requiring the employees to communicate information.
  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$49.72 - $76.76
