Title: Transportation Coordinator

Department: Transportation
Classification: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $29.08/hour - $32.72/hour
Salary Range: $29.08/hour - $43.62/hour

Position Summary: As part of a collaborative team, develops, coordinates, and administers a variety of programs and services in keeping with the department's mission of shifting to the community to a balanced and integrated transportation system, consistent with the organization's values and mission statement. This position performs public facing duties with an emphasis on customer service.
Supervision Exercised and Received: This position is supervised by the Mobility Division Manager.

Essential Job Functions:
Program Administration
Executes daily tasks related to the operation and administration of a variety of transportation programs and services including but not limited to transit, shared mobility and employer and commuter services.
* Coordinates employer and commuter services including events, grant applications, bus pass distribution and emergency transportation.
* Recruits and orients new members to various departmental programs.
* Assists in planning and execution of events aimed at recognition of bus riders, carpoolers and cyclists.
* Maintains databases to track expenditures, usage, program effectiveness and similar.
* Conducts research and reports back on trends, services, vendors, or similar. Writes reports, memos and similar.
* Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
* Coordinates internal services such as bus pass distribution and similar.
Service Operations
* Assists with basic fleet management tasks such as scheduling maintenance, fueling, cleaning, inspection of damage, vehicle relocation, etc.
* Assists with property management tasks at bus stops, transit center and other transportation facilities.
* Schedules services with vendors as directed.
* Coordinates with internal departments such as Police, Parking, Finance, Special Events and Streets on service-related opportunities and problems.
* Monitors services by distributing surveys and reviewing vendor or customer input. Processes ridership, accident, complaint, and other reports.
* Provides on-site oversight at special events and/or at construction sites related to permit compliance.
* Maintains and updates internal and external manuals, schedules, reservation systems, calendars or similar.
Transportation Department Duties
* As a member of the Transportation Department, cross trains to be fully functional in other Coordinator positions.
* Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two years of professional program coordination, outreach, and communications experience, preferably in the transportation/transit/ field.
Technical Knowledge: Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Email). Must have a basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications, which includes accessing web-based platforms.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.
NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge, and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.

Preferred Candidate: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. Program management, TDM, customer service, marketing, or fleet management experience. Familiarity with website maintenance and posting. Familiarity with Oracle or other accounting programs.
NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
Position Type and Work Hours:
* Regular full time, hours may vary with workload.
* Evenings/Weekends may be required depending on department needs and special projects.
Work Environment:
* Indoors: Office environment.
* Outdoors/Off-Site: Meetings, trainings, and site visits at a variety of city facilities and areas.
