Primary Responsibilities

HDR Engineering, Inc. has an opportunity for a Real Estate Services Agent 1 based out of our Denver office. The candidate will perform entry level land rights and right of way services for non-complex projects and will have the opportunity to work on rtansportation, power, and water projects as part of HDR's cross sector services. This position will involve working as a part of multidisciplined teams including engineering, surveying, environmental and strategic communications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support services to the Right of Way project team including property research, property owner contact research and obtaining deeds and title commitments.
  • Support the Right of Way project team with real estate document preparation including deeds, easements, leases, and purchase agreements.
  • Perform non-complex negotiations for acquisition of land rights from property owners related to utility and transportation projects.
  • Prepare permitting applications and coordinate approvals with government agencies to support construction of utility projects.
  • Input and track project status data in spreadsheets and internal HDR databases.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Be proficient with Google Earth, Online GIS Mapping websites and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Read, review, and understand right of way plans, engineering plans, survey plats and legal descriptions.
  • Be available for travel (in state and out of state) as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in real estate, title, property law, land management, surveying or mapping or 120 hours of documented real estate training
  • Real estate license in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law
  • Ability to interpret survey and engineering drawings
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry, such as the Uniform Act, FERC and NEPA
  • Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and public agencies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical Utility or Transportation project related experience
  • Certification from the International Right of Way Association
  • Permitting experience for utility projects within Colorado
  • GIS mapping and database familiarity

The expected compensation range for this position is $51,359.00 - $73,370.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
