As a Program Manager II, you will support the business operations at Sierra Space. You will be responsible for all programmatic aspects of your assigned projects with specifically focused responsibility for customer relationship, cost, schedule and technical planning, tracking and reporting, technical execution, and ensuring overall program performance objectives are achieved. You will participate in business resource planning/tracking in coordination with other corporate entities and responsible to formulate a team that can fulfill program requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring program issues and problems are identified, tracked, and resolved. You will be responsible for program risk management and ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, tracked, and managed. You'll be responsible for conducting routine meetings, interfacing on project/program status, developing proposals, researching/fact-finding, coordinating audits, and negotiating with project/program stakeholders to ensure enterprise initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints. You'll support the program director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations.

As a Technical Program Manager II, you will be using your skills and expertise to support the execution of the business unit strategy and provide programmatic and technical leadership, guidance, and oversight for our integrated plan for space-based command & data handling (C&DH) product development. This includes overseeing product teams throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to product release. You will support the architecture and development of product technical baselines that support multiple customers and applications, ensuring consistency, continuity, and configuration control. You will shape product strategy and provide technical investment needs and staffing forecasts to Leadership. You will collaborate with other leaders and functions to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget. You will develop budgetary estimates and shape customer requirements during early pursuit phases. You will support proposal technical and cost volumes. You will also support program and technical reviews and provide guidance to staff on technical solution synthesis.

Must-haves:

  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related technical discipline.

  • Requires ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.

  • Experience in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines.

  • Experience with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or quotes. Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.


Preferred:

  • Current TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Master's degree in an Electrical Engineering or similar technical specialty, MBA or management

  • Advanced knowledge of C&DH products, such as flight computers, the components they comprise, their functions, and interfaces.

  • Experience leading the development of spaced-based C&DH products in a rapid prototyping commercial space environment.

  • Ability to oversee multiple product development efforts, in coordination with Programs, to assure successful program execution for technical, schedule, and design-to-cost (DTC) objectives.

  • Ability to lead and drive high-performance cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on program execution, customer satisfaction, and speed to market.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to ensure that design-for-X principles are consistently applied to product development.

  • Experience developing and managing product roadmaps that are aligned to business objectives and customer needs.

  • Ability to apply sound technical and programmatic judgment, and make impactful decisions in complex and ambiguous situations, often with incomplete data.

  • Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.

  • Possess a strategic mindset, linking technology and business.

  • Proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, and strategic thinking.

  • Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, and enforcing accountability.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$138,634.92 - $207,952.37

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
