What You Will Do:

  • Research, analyze, interpret, and effectively apply trust-related laws and regulations, keeping up to date on emerging issues and topics.
  • Verify compliance with related fiduciary requirements through reviews and tests of operational controls.
  • Ensure the Bank meets investment-related fiduciary standards by reviewing the decision-making process used for the selection, retention, and preservation of discretionary assets.
  • Assess whether financial risks embedded in account portfolios are appropriate, the timing and completeness of annual account reviews, and monitor fiduciary assets for trends and related risk exposures
  • Verify adherence with applicable trust laws and regulations through detailed tests of new, closed, and existing trust accounts.
  • Evaluate the account review process (Reg 9 Review Process/FDIC Fiduciary Review Process/ERISA) including the ongoing assessment of account-level risks.
  • Review, test, and advise on Trust, IM, and Retirement account administration including adherence to the governing account instrument, needs of account beneficiaries, prudence in asset administration, avoidance of conflicts of interest, and appropriateness of fees.
  • Assess, and conduct testing, for risk exposure and monitoring processes, including risk rating of accounts and watch list monitoring process, and other compliance issues, control weaknesses and their root cause, and meet with management to make recommendations for remediation of compliance risk and appropriate corrective action.
  • Compose written reports containing findings, any corrective actions required, and recommendations for distribution to management, client-facing staff, and to various Trust, Compliance, and Risk Committees, as applicable and participate in various committees, audits, and examinations related to compliance and regulations
  • Evaluate Trust (and related product) policies and procedures and make recommendations, as needed.
  • Complete and Comply with the Companies Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Questionnaire and Policy Acknowledgement
  • Complete all assigned training on time

What You Bring:

  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with FIS/Verafin preferred
  • Effective interpersonal communications; detail-oriented; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and regulatory documents
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Outstanding leadership and team mentoring abilities.

Juris Doctorate or CTFA Preferred

7-10 years of Trust Compliance, Trust Officer, or other Trust professional experience Required

5-7 years of Supervisory Experience Required

7-10 years of strong Knowledge of Trust Estate Planning & Administration and the regulatory requirements of Trust Preferred

Certified Fiduciary & Investment Risk Specialist Upon Hire

Pay Range: $108,000 - $173,000/YR

Job Classification: Full-Time Exempt/Non-Exempt
