TITLE: Principal Engineer 2
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Develop and evaluate emerging technology on a team that specializes in Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN), 5G/6G architecture, DOCSIS, and converged wireline and wireless infrastructure and products. Evaluate and develop software architecture, platforms, tools, and processes necessary to demonstrate proofs of concept for advanced technologies. Perform engineering activities to validate capabilities of new technologies through lab evaluations and field trials. Assess new product requirements, develop technology and architecture solutions, and evaluate performance in support of these requirements. Support improved wireless network security and virtualization of network functions, as well as new applications supporting potential new services. Support new wireless technological development for potential IoT activities and architectures. Integrate converged systems, including wireless architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links, and protocols, into complete network configurations. Coordinate with vendors and lead the testing of new firmware, software, and hardware supporting Charter's wireless solutions. Construct test plans to validate functional, performance, and business requirements for the technologies over Charter infrastructure. Evaluate, select, and deploy new test tools and automation frameworks. Study future technology developments and formulate associated testing strategies. Implement Stack protocol design on emerging wireless and wireline technologies. Develop and evaluate Open RAN Networks. Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members in the lab. Perform feature development on wireline and wireless technologies.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience developing and evaluating new technologies, including a combination of 3G/4G/5G architecture; 6 years of experience implementing Stack protocol design on emerging wireless and wireline technologies; 5 years of experience developing and evaluating Open RAN networks; 4 years of experience integrating converged systems into complete network configurations; and 2 years of experience performing feature development on wireline and wireless technologies. A Hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available.
Requires up to 10% local travel.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $159,598 to $220,000. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
