Valiant is seeking a Tractor Operator / Grounds Maintenance Technician for hospital grounds maintenance.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Cuts lawns. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
  • Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth ore removed damaged leaves, branches, or twigs Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
  • Rakes and bags leaves.
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter.
  • Shovels snow from sidewalks, parking lots, and drive lanes.
  • Utilizes snow plows, tractors and spreaders to remove snow.
  • Spreads ice melt and sand as necessary before, during and after snow storms.
  • Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Waters lawn, shrubs and trees.
  • Repairs fences, gates, retaining walls and walks.
  • Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
  • Maintains and repairs all grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Possess a current Ground Pesticide Applicator License for the State of Colorado (preferred)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) .
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must have current drivers license.

Pay Rate:
This position starts at $22.71/hr. However, Valiant considers several factors, including but not limited to, market data, business considerations, internal equity, the role and responsibilities of the position, a candidate's work experience, education, and training, when extending an offer.

Benefits: This position includes a competitive benefits package. The provision of benefits are outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).


  • Possess a current Ground Pesticide Applicator License for the State of Colorado (preferred)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) .
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and ability to write simple correspondence.
