Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time senior commissioning engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid position, reporting to our office in Denver, CO.

This position is responsible for the overall execution and supervision of building commissioning projects to ensure that buildings and their systems work as intended by the original design intent and provides for reduced operation and maintenance costs, energy savings and improved indoor air quality. Responsibilities include:

  1. Review work of and provide training for junior staff
  2. Complete and review tasks required for LEED, ASHRAE, Title 24, code and other green building rating system commissioning services for new and existing buildings.
  3. Complete and review others work on re- and retro-commissioning projects, monitoring-based commissioning and energy audit projects
  4. Prepare and provide written observation reports, test results, and findings with recommended actions to the Contractor, the A/E Design Team, the Owner and the Owner's Representative and other necessary representatives.
  5. Manage clients, projects and team communication regarding project status and routine activities.
  6. Prepare proposals for new commissioning projects with department manager and marketing.
  7. Assist in project interviews as necessary.
  8. Conduct and participate in design and construction meetings to identify design intent, and compliance with established criteria.
  9. Perform and direct regular site visits, as necessary, to observe component and document component system installations.
  10. Resolve design or specification discrepancies.
  11. Review submittals of systems to be commissioned.
  12. Conduct functional performance testing of sub-systems, systems, and interactions between systems. Document results of all tests witnessed.
  13. Prepare, review, and submit documents to finalize commission process.
  14. Review and suggest additional scope of work needs.
  15. Provide peer review of deliverables, and mentorship of Commissioning Staff.
  16. Serves in a leadership role in a technical or industry professional organization.
  17. Attends meetings and presents professional papers / gives presentations at local or national conferences in area of expertise.
  18. Develop process improvement templates and procedures to improve the quality and consistency of commissioning documentation.
  19. Other duties as assigned

Travel will be required for this position.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical or electrical engineering AND at least 12 years of relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience with monitor-based commissioning (SkySpark)
  • Client management experience
  • LEED AP certification
  • Professional Engineering license

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
