Job Description:
The Dance Movement Therapist provides a clinical and evidence-based use of dance to meet individualized healthcare goals of patients through individual, group, or environmental intervention.Job Details
Shift: Part Time, 8 hours/week Variable shifts during Business Hours Monday- Friday (about 9am-5pm) Holidays as needed
Location: All Primary Children's Hospitals and Clinics
Additional Details: Must be a Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT).
Job Essentials
Develops and provides appropriate dance movement interventions for patients.
Manages resources, including time, staff, and budget.
Demonstrates an understanding of the appropriate scope of Dance Movement Therapy within a clinical setting.
Promotes communication with medical team, nursing, and other family support service departments.
Actively develops community partnerships to promote Dance Movement Therapy.
Develops and refines the Dance Movement Therapy program including research to identify best practice for achieving desired clinical outcomes.
Documents Dance Movement Therapy interventions in patient charts in a timely and thorough manner including initial assessments and progress notes.
Presents educational in-services about Dance Movement Therapy within the facility and in the community.
Maintains accurate Dance Movement Therapy session statistics in quality assurance efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Dance Movement Therapy from a program approved by the ADTA, or Master's Degree in related field with alternate route approved by the ADTA. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT).
Preferred Qualifications
Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist (BC-DMT).
One year of experience in a clinical setting.
