Job Description

SUMMARY

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness. Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Preform nursing services identified in the TO.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree of Nursing from a college or university accredited by Accreditation.
  • Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or as otherwise identified in the TO.
  • One (1) year of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO.
  • Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (potentially up to a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance) (U.S. Citizenship required).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively read, write and speak English in order to communicate with all patients and other healthcare providers.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills.
  • Sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to a variety of patients and healthcare staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements.

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily indoors at a well-lit military treatment facility such as a clinic, outpatient facility or hospital. The environment is normally air conditioned, but conditions may change dependent upon circumstances. Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids, latex, radiation or other contaminants and safety issues. May be exposed to infection or diseases from contact with patients. Work is highly social with patients and can be stressful with a high emotional element. Decisions made may substantially impact patients and their families.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, speaking, or translating. Periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

  • Pay is: $36.00 to $40.57per hour.
