Nutrien is the 3rd largest nitrogen producer in the world, with over 7 million tonnes of gross ammonia produced annually. Nutrien is also the 2nd largest North American producer of phosphate, with over 1.7 million tonnes of phosphate production capacity.In this critical role, you will report to the Nitrogen & Phosphate (N&P) ETC Senior Director, Asset Integrity. You will be the owner of N&P's maintenance and reliability program, supporting ten (10) Nitrogen and seven (7) Phosphate fertilizer production sites, as well as the Transportation, Distribution & Logistics terminals across North America and Trinidad & Tobago, in achieving safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will lead a team of six (6) maintenance and reliability professionals in the implementation and improvement of N&P's asset care program, fostering Nutrien's Culture of Care within your team and through all interactions. The vision, mission, strategy, and programs defined by your group are applied across those 17 sites and are considered a long-term strategic advantage of Nutrien. Ensuring widespread adoption and continued improvement of the M&R programs will be a key part of your responsibilities.

This position will be located or based at any existing Nutrien N&P Operations or any Corporate Office in USA, Trinidad & Tobago, or Canada. To adequately support Nutrien's operations, this role will require travel up to 40% of the time.

What you will do:

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance the maintenance and reliability strategy for Nitrogen and Phosphate. Responsible for ensuring the strategy aligns with N&P's business objectives and for turning the strategy into executable actions.
  • Effectively communicate the M&R strategy and execution plan to all stakeholders. Convince stakeholders throughout the organization of the importance of the strategy and promote the business value of effectively implementing it.
  • Develop strong relationships with operating sites to increase adoption and effectiveness of N&P's maintenance and reliability processes and systems.
  • Support sites in their continuous improvement and program implementation efforts.
  • Ensure Nutrien's programs are aligned with industry best practices and relevant industry learnings are incorporated into Nutrien's standards, practices, policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Ensure the appropriate tools and technologies are in place to enable the maintenance and reliability processes and programs.
  • Use data to identify areas of opportunity, monitor performance, and support leader decision making.
  • Coordinate within the ETC and across other business functions to deliver strategic objectives that support N&P's maintenance and reliability goals.
  • Develop and provide training to grow expertise in the areas of Maintenance & Reliability within N&P. Coach and mentor upcoming maintenance and reliability professionals.

What you will bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent technical school diploma.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) designation, or equivalent, or be committed to achieving within one year from date of hire
  • A demonstrated track record of at least 15 years of related technical and/or managerial experience in petrochemical or process manufacturing companies
  • Experience in maintenance program development and implementation with a focus on change leadership
  • Strong communication and influence skills
  • Customer focused approach with a strong emphasis on stakeholder relationship building
  • Proven track record of inclusive team leadership and delivery of results

Compensation & Benefits:

150,800-207,350 US$ This is the estimated pay range forDirector, Maintenance & Reliability in ColoradoActual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
