WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The full-time Product Quality Inspector/Door Walker acts as a production/warehouse associate, responsible for monitoring quality assurance throughout the production process, along with:

  • Performing quality assurance checks in the field to confirm door orders before production.
  • Reporting any issues to builder and sales team so corrections can be made.
  • Maintaining schedule to complete QA walks before scheduled deadlines.
  • Periodically assisting in delivering material to job sites while in the field.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and observing all safety rules posted in the warehouse.

Pay: $20.00+/hour, DOE plus full benefits. Over-time paid at a rate of time and a half.

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to confirm door openings
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints
  • Must be able to periodically lift up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out simple one or two-step instructions; deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires working in a highly precarious place near moving mechanical parts. This position requires working outdoors and being exposed to wet, humid, hot and/or cold weather conditions. This position is exposed to vibrations, potential risk of electrical shock, airborne particles and chemicals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires frequent standing, walking, hearing, use of hands and arms, grasping, handling, feeling, climbing, balancing, crawling, stooping kneeling, crouching, and lifts up to 80 pounds. Rarely this position will be sitting.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 7:00 AM-5:00 PM. Must be willing to work 48+ hours per week. May require working irregular and/or extended hours.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Responsibilities

Working on a Door pre-hanging assembly line and keeping up on routine maintenance of equipment.

Using power saws, air nail guns, staples and other tools needed to prep wood material used to assemble doors.

Safely operate a forklift to assist in moving material to appropriate area of the shop.

Pick and pull production material as needed.

Load, unload, store and package material as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all safety rules posted.


Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
