Advisor, TM Relations

This position within the legal organization is an integral member of the leadership team for assigned segments of the business, acting as the trusted advisor on strategic employment law, employee relations, and other matters which impact business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to, and if appropriate, escalate teammate relations issues focused on teammate compensation, wage and hour laws, and time clock policy and practice adherence received from all levels of teammates
  • Assist in creating and implementing structured and customized approach to addressing adherence to time clock policy and practice
  • Maintain required documentation within case management system (EthicsPoint), including intake, investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports
  • Interpret and apply DaVita policies, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, coaching and clarification for teammate relations and policyquestions; staying current on employment laws and policies include federal and state wage and hour laws with a strong emphasis on California wage and hour laws
  • Provide guidance, assisting with development and delivery of appropriate feedback, including Performance Improvement Plans or other corrective/disciplinary actions
  • Provide consultation, support, guidance and coaching to managers and others to address teammate behavior and performance concerns
  • Resolve teammate relations issues, including: gathering and analyzing evidence, applying relevant laws, policies and past practices to reach appropriate outcomes
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize compensation data and time clock data
  • Escalate high risk and sensitive teammate relations issues, using judgment to determine when to escalate issues and cases
  • Work directly with Teammate Relations Managers as appropriate; providing research and support for complex and high level investigations; assist with responses to third-party EEOC, OFCCP, and other governmental charges and requests as well as threatened litigation
  • Partner with PSMs and the business on as-needed basis, keeping appropriate parties informed and involved
  • Coach and advise managers on how to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts or misunderstandings, escalating to appropriate PS contact as needed

  • Ability to travel up to 10% (can be unpredictable/unplanned)

Salary/ Wage Range

$56,500.00-$83,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
