Your Role: What you'll be doing

ULA is looking for a Data Scientist with demonstrated experience in data analytics activities in an aerospace environment is desired. Qualified candidate is required to have experience with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical and programmatic issues using current and advanced state-of-the-art statistical and/or data science techniques. This position requires excellent written and oral communication proficiency in conjunction with organization skills necessary to maintain focus and achieve consensus within diverse multi-disciplined teams. The candidate may have demonstrated technical knowledge in areas that drive launch vehicle and/or satellite vehicle designs and analysis in the areas of structural, propulsion, electrical, software development, and system analysis. The successful candidate will be a self-starter able to work autonomously, learn and execute processes, and perform in a collaborative environment.Qualified candidate will also have a key role in ensuring continuous improvement of the same tools and processes used to execute their function. This position is required to participate in multidiscipline project teams to evaluate customer/operational needs and to develop new and unique solutions to help support decision making across all engineering, manufacturing, launch operations, and business disciplines. Responsible for identifying and applying appropriate scaling of data science activities corresponding with the specific project needs.

Your Background: What education and experience you'll need

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Data Science or Analytics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience with emphasis in the area of Data Science

Your Background: What skills you'll need

* A Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
* 4-8 years of related professional experience with emphasis in the area of Data Science
Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, data extraction and wrangling techniques.
* Strong knowledge of and experience using statistical/analytical packages for analyzing small and big data (Excel, Python, R, @Risk, Minitab, MATLAB, Weibull++11, etc) and leveraging them to impart business insights.
* Experience in applying machine learning and/or artificial intelligence to business or engineering applications.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Adept at queries, report writing and presentation of findings.
* Ability to operate independently and work as part of a team.

Summary Salary Range (Colorado Only)

$111,700 - $174,504

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
