This is a promotional role, and upon completing a minimum of three months of employment there is a $500 bonus and PCL will cover all fees related to obtaining a Traffic Control Technician Certification or a Traffic Control Supervisor Certification through CCA or ATSSA. 


Here's how a Lead Flagger/Laborer for our Denver District 16th Street Mall Project, contributes to our team by:

  • Performing traffic control and flagging activities as needed; following safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian and construction traffic movements in a work area; duties may vary according to job assignment. 

  • Operating pickups and flatbed trucks (not requiring a commercial driver’s license), and miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; conducts routine equipment maintenance and daily equipment inspections according to standards. 

  • Supervising Flaggers and ensure company standards are being complied with. 

  • Completing daily logs (vehicle, time, project, etc) timely and accurately. 

  • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. 

  • Material handling and storage. 

  • Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and lifting materials. 

  • Ensuring that tasks are completed in accordance with all applicable company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations. 

  • Effectively communicate problems or concerns to the Foreman, Project Supervisor or Safety Manager. 

  • Must be able for extended periods of time to perform all the following: stand, walk, jog, climb, kneel, squat, bend at the waist, grasp and hold various tools and objects with both hands. 

  • Other duties as required 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and physical screening. 

  • Must provide a CDOT Flagger Card 

  • Must be able to provide minimum of 1000 logged hours as a flagger  

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR is required. 

  • Firm knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in traffic operations related to heavy/highway construction work. 

  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. 

  • Ability to work independently and in groups to complete daily activities according to work schedule. 

  • Strength to perform average lifting of up to 50 pounds, from the ground to above head. 

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing. 

  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. 

  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. 

  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. 

  • Ability to professionally interact with supervisors, project supervisors, coworkers, public, subordinate employees, other contractors, project owners and their agents.

The salary range for this position is between $22.00 and $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
