The planning, scheduling and lean group of Integrated Construction Services work with operations groups to build on the culture at PCL by proving the return of time spent on planning, scheduling, and lean knowledge. Through training and engagement, set higher standards and support districts and individuals to reach those standards

Here's how aScheduling Managerfor our US Head Officeoffice contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Works with operational districts as required to provide project support and training related to planning, scheduling and lean practices. Travel required where applicable.
  • Provides technical training to operational teams on planning and scheduling principles, in accordance with Operations Business Guides and Directives.
  • Coaches project teams and districts of schedule requirements in the contract documents and ensure the contract requirements are adequately considered in the schedule.
  • Assists challenged projects and districts with scheduling audits and support.
  • Evaluates and develop strategy on change management for project teams to implement and coach project teams in the development of schedule impact analysis on contract changes and project impacts.
  • Coaches project teams in the interpretation, development and application of schedule risk.
  • Provides training for P6 EPPM and Deltek Acumen, including evaluating and testing upgrades, and document management.
  • Reviews and contributes to planning and scheduling directives, business guides and best practices including communication of each to operational districts and project teams.
  • Mentors and supports planning, scheduling and lean district champions.
  • Develops, evaluates, and maintains project schedules in support of operational districts.
Qualifications
  • 8-15 years of progressive scheduling experience in construction or related field preferred, with 4 years of experience in a supervisory role an asset.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in construction management, engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Ability to manage/facilitate planning and scheduling for a project valued at or above $300M.
  • Expert knowledge of construction specifications, contract documents, building materials, methods and procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts and proposal documents.
  • Extensive experience with project management and field construction operations and how a project is constructed, including logical sequencing of work through all phases of the project from pursuit to project closeout.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk, opportunities with appropriate solutions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Deltek Acumen Fuse with knowledge of schedule analysis methodology.
  • Experience using schedule delay analysis methods and highly skilled in communicating results.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.
  • Travel expectations: Up to 50% throughout North America

Salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 depending on experience.
