We are looking for a Talent AcquisitionDirector to help tell PCL's story and engage top talent in the Construction Industry. This role will helplead the development and execution of talent acquisition strategies across the United States to deliver innovation and effectiveness throughout our Districts. You will have accountability to help design, implement, and deliver top TA programs including strategies and tactics for talent attraction, sourcing, acquisition, employee experience, and analytics. We are NOT looking for a "post & pray" recruiting team; we are seeking true HUNTERS who are hungry to find the best talent. We create careers for ambitious people by moving beyond traditional assumptions of what it means to work in talent acquisition.

The Talent Acquisition Director will have five main areas of responsibility:

  1. Partner with Canada in developing and executing a strategy for attraction and retention of key talent in the Construction industry, supporting Districts across the U.S.
  2. Robust market research and analysis of our competition
  3. Analysis of our vendors (outside staffing firms and hiring platforms), recruiting technologies (ATS, etc) and processes to promote efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  4. Targeted candidate identification and screening, especially for niche or high-profile roles
  5. Effective managing and mentoring of your direct reports

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a TA Strategic Roadmap through stakeholder analysis, working with Senior Leaders and HR Leadership to develop the right strategy and programs and partners to drive the strategy
  • Position PCL as a great place to work and design & execute branding strategy with the Marketing team
  • Identify and lead efforts to acquire and implement the necessary TA technologies and other solutions to support strategic and workforce plans
  • Set a vision around candidate and hiring manager experiences. Ensure practices are up-to-date and work with benchmarking organizations as well as other networking organizations to stay abreast of trends
  • Encourage unity and creative thinking in your team members to deliver white-glove service to the business units, holding your team accountable and recognizing their successes
  • Drive operational and process efficiency as well as continuous improvement through workflow automation, AI, and metrics
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques to attract and compete for top talent in the market
  • Manage, leverage, and challenge existing recruiting strategies, methods, and systems to generate a proactive and efficient approach to improving the quality of candidates and time-to-hire
  • Provide training and resources around interviewing techniques and best practices to all hiring managers
  • Measure and improve key business metrics (Glassdoor ratings, Indeed ratings, Time to Fill, etc)
  • Explore and utilize various sourcing channels like networking, direct sourcing, universities, social media, PCL career site, employee referrals, job portals, and other new venues
  • Identify opportunities to increase the diversity of the candidate pool by partnering with internal and external organizations that support the company's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
  • Assess and manage vendor relationships and minimize reliance on outside sources for talent
  • Leverage strong analytical skills to audit processes, assess trends, create reports and tell the story with data

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting in fast-paced, complex organization; supervisory experience required
  • B.S. in Business or related field preferred; experience in a corporate environment at a Fortune 500 company is preferred
  • Strong preference for those with Construction-industry or related experience; experience with Canadian operations is a plus
  • Strong IT and social media skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing effective candidate experiences
  • Experience collaborating with internal marketing teams on effective and creative communication strategies both internally and externally
  • Experience with assessing, designing, building, and implementing new Talent Acquisition technologies
  • In-depth understanding of strategic sales process, prospecting, networking, cold calling
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint presentation, LinkedIn Recruiter, HRIS, and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Research mentality with strong business acuity, and the ability ramp quickly on market trends and articulate market insights
  • Rigorous & studious work ethic, with the proven ability to go above and beyond to find the best solution
  • Creative thinking and knowing that there is more than one way to tackle recruiting challenges
  • Ability to have difficult conversations around critical topics including compensation expectations and immigration law & policy
  • Real passion for creative sourcing and recruitment techniques with a focus on providing a white-glove experience to clients and candidates

Salary range for this position is $135,000 to $170,000 dependent on experience
