The Role

Small Business Integrated Marketing is a passionate, entrepreneurial team of strategists focused on communicating the value of Capital One Business and its products to our small business customers. We are seeking a strategic, insights-minded Customer Communications & Marketing Principal Associate to drive impactful marketing and servicing experiences that support, engage, and retain existing customers. This role will focus on optimizing and innovating customer marketing to amplify business brand initiatives, highlight built for business tools, and accelerate payments and spend management capabilities. This person will partner closely with a range of cross-functional business partners to develop a shared customer communications and marketing agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an integrated customer communications and marketing agenda, leveraging insights, past performance, channel best practices, and business objectives.

  • Develop grounded hypotheses and learning plans to amplify customer engagement, retention, appreciation, and advocacy marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate across marketing and business partners to tell a consistent, compelling narrative of Capital One Business products and brand experience to existing customers.

  • Partner with analysts and insights teams to leverage data, market research, and customer intelligence to inform strategic recommendations.

  • Coordinate with a range of creative development and cross-functional executional partners to launch customer communications and marketing activations.

  • Represent Integrated Marketing more broadly with key Customer Management, Product, and Business Brand partners in a highly matrixed environment.

Here's what you'll need to be successful:

  • Proven experience leading and developing customer communications and marketing strategies, with a focus on digital channels, emerging martech capabilities, and direct mail channels.

  • Well-versed in marketing performance metrics, with the ability to draw meaningful insights and actionable implications from data to optimize strategies and creative.

  • Passion for customer-centric marketing based on needs, behaviors, insights, and experience journeys.

  • General manager mindset with strong strategic, analytical, and creative capabilities to build and influence the organization to adopt new customer marketing strategies and channels.

  • Problem solver who excels in dynamic environments and thrives with whitespace - pushes to test hypotheses and stand up best practices that don't exist today.

  • Exhibit a high level of initiative and ownership, while simultaneously balancing a culture centered on collaboration and prioritization across diverse functional groups.

  • Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing, presentation, and storytelling abilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 4 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related business management vector.

  • 4+ years of customer marketing and communications experience in a technology-forward culture, the financial services industry or for a large organization.

  • 4+ years of B2B marketing experience.
