The Professional Insurance Follow Up Rep is responsible for insurance follow up for zero paid, underpaid, overpaid and denied insurance claims in Epic. Positions in this function contact various insurance companies to determine reason for outstanding balance via phone, website, or written appeals. Work with various departments as needed to resolve outstanding claims. Review, appeal or request claim reprocessing to represent correct processing of insurance claims.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday.
Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It
may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or
weekends. Our office is located at 5450 Western Avenue Boulder, CO.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend insurance payment Remittance Advice/ Explanation of Benefits
- Review, appeal or request claim reprocessing to represent correct processing of insurance claims
- Contact insurance companies regarding claim processing and determining reason for payment delinquency or claim denial
- Contact various departments to help with corrections and submit appeals for outstanding balances
- Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on collection practices
- Basic knowledge of medical insurance operating procedures and practices
- Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines

Required Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of customer
engagement experience
- Employees are
required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app,
Interactive VoiceResponse (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system)
or a similar UnitedHealth Group approved symptom screener prior to entering the
work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must
comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a
UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas
where physical distancing cannot be attained
