Assist in system upgrades and new functionality. Serve as subject matter expert in coordination with national and regional IT. Design, analyze and supply systems data to Management for investigation of significant events impacting patient care, for determination of departmental productivity measures, to improve staffing patterns and for continued process improvement. Build, maintain and integrate laboratory tests. Perform instrument server maintenance. Support regional participation with state agencies for disease tracking. Maintain state, federal, and Kaiser required regulations and compliance. Support lab 24/7 in rotating on-call schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operational and Informatics Expertise: Investigate significant events and improve staffing patterns through acquisition and analysis of system data. Lead expertise in support of business to meet National and Regional objectives. Subject matter expert in multiple applications.
Project Management: Organize work teams, departments, regional leadership and information technology to resolve needs, facilitate agreements and decisions. Lead post implementation analysis.
Development and Support:Predict customer needs, design options and deploy solutions. Examples of this work include: (1) department or strategic needs; (2) decision support capabilities; (3) improvements to human-system interface; (4) informational needs of customers. Resolve system incidents and patient safety issues under stressful outage situations. Support lab 24/7 in rotating on-call schedule.
System Testing and Configuration: Ensure system efficiency by testing existing functionality, version upgrades and new modules. As the subject matter expert, support test script development, test data validation, test result analysis, defect and problem resolution and support deployment. Help research and configure new features or modules for integration with existing applications. Update files and category lists to ensure data integrity and synchronization with workflow and external systems.
Manage Release Notes and Change Requests: Review and analyze recommended release notes from system vendors. Perform Change Requests including user accounts and permissions. Communicate relevant changes to business partners. Other duties as assigned.
The union and the company are currently investigating the bargaining unit status of this position. If it is determined that this is a bargaining unit position, bargaining unit status (seniority dates, dues payments etc.) will be applied on a retroactive basis based on the employment commencement date.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting an electronic information system in healthcare or related field.
Minimum one (1) year of experience with elevated user access to a Cerner application.
Education
Bachelor's degree in health care administration, information systems, science, health care profession, or information resource management OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Cerner Certification (CoPath or Millennium) required within six months of hire date

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Strong customer service skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and research skills are required.

Demonstrated project management involving implementation of changes within an electronic information system.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through influence and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Cerner certification.
Two (2) years direct experience implementing business information systems within Kaiser Permanente
Knowledge of systems analysis.
Knowledge of research and evaluation design.
Demonstrated experience leading a multidisciplinary project to successful completion.
Public speaking skills.
Demonstrated experience with office software, e.g., Power Point, Excel, Word and/or MS Project
Advanced degree in medical informatics, computer science or a related health care field.
Prefer System Administrator experience.
