    Responsibilities:

    SUMMARY

    Makes use of complex procurement methods requiring a great degree of knowledge, professionalism and administration. Purchasing Analyst is able to work independently of close daily supervision, carries out research activities on a variety of tasks and assignments.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    With minimal experience and with direct supervision, the duties assigned for completion are:

    • Gather tooling capacity information from suppliers. Information to be gathered includes: weekly capacity, annual capacity, overall tooling life, shots ran on tool, and remaining tool life. Should proficiently be able to analyze information and summarize into spreadsheets- as well as convey this information to the team.
    • Conduct research on new potential suppliers with the possibility of improving quality without price increase.
    • Facilitate all cost savings initiatives.
    • Development and maintenance of excellent supplier relations- as well as following up on any supplier issues.
    • Maintaining and updating approved and preferred supplier list.
    • Working on various purchasing miscellaneous tasks: supplier data metrics, analyzing sub commodity vs. commodity spending.
    • Develop and build a professional working relationship with internal customers and suppliers.
    • Builds the technical knowledge and skills required to influence the corporation's purchasing decisions.
    • Attend weekly project team meetings and assist program managers as necessary
    • Work on cost savings initiatives and participate in bi-weekly cost savings meetings
    • Assist in benchmarking activities
    • Support program management in meeting program requirements, program tracker updates, team meeting updates, team member follow up, and other general assistance
    • Provide Windchill SKMS support, create projects, set up teams, modify project plans, modify teams, load in documents, provide general feedback and assistance with all SKMS issues

    • Organizational Skills
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people
    • Ability to work independently

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Currently in process of pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college or university.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Employee may have to travel, no more than 10-15%.
